Did you just start a keto diet? Not sure what non-keto foods to avoid at the grocery store? Below is a list of 3 non-keto foods. They may even come as a surprise to you how they are not keto foods.
1. MILK
Milk is an example of a non-keto food. Just look at the sugars on the label. Milk contains LACTOSE and plenty of it. This gets broken into glucose, spikes insulin, and knocks you out of ketosis. Absolutely non-keto food-friendly. Try almond/coconut milk instead. But, never ever drink soy.
Nutrition Fact: Cheese does not have lactose because the bacteria eat it as a food source during the processing of it.
2. BEANS
These are very starchy and can cause intestinal discomfort if not prepared properly. Yes, the fiber is good but these foods are still very STARCHY (high-carbs). They make you toot mainly because your body having issues digesting them. Stay away and get your fiber from DARK LEAFY GREENS.
Nutrition Fact: Peanuts are not nuts. They are legumes or beans.
3. FRUITS
Almost all fruits are out of the picture. Selective breeding and GMOs have made them into gigantic fructose-bombs that spike insulin-like crazy. Fruit juices especially are a NO. If you have a sweet tooth just eat lower-sugar (tart) options like blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries. But, eat them sparingly.

CONCLUSION
Always check your ketone levels with keto test strips. I check mine daily to see if I’m “in” keto or not. They are only $12 for 50 test strips.
Knowing/feeling you’re in is one way to subjectively measure but being OBJECTIVE is the only correct method to be official.
Blood testing is the gold standard but can be difficult to do on a regular basis.
